Adoption of report on EEA EFTA States’ participation in EU agencies

In her function as member of the SINEEA delegation, Silvana Koch-Mehrin was together with her colleague Laila Dåvøy appointed rapporteur for a report of the European Economic Area (EEA) Joint Parliamentary Committee on “EEA EFTA States’ participation in EU agencies”. The report, which was adopted today by the EEA Joint Parliamentary Committee, re-defines the modalities for the EEA EFTA States’ participation in EU agencies.

This re-definition follows a new common approach on EU-agencies, agreed on by the Commission, the Council and the Parliament in June 2012. As in many EU-agencies the EEA EFTA States participate in many EU-agencies, a modification of the modalities for the EEA EFTA States’ participation in EU agencies became necessary as well.
